- PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION – NEWBORNS 3-14 DAYS OLD
-
I love photographing newborns! Newborn photography sessions can be challenging, but it’s so amazing to be a part of a baby’s life when they are just days old. There are many factors that have to come together for the session to go smoothly. Patience is very important for both photographer and the parents. Babies can pick up on anxiety or nervousness. A session can go quickly and be done in an hour, or it can take 2.5 hours to get beautiful images – the end result is totally worth it.
There is lots of preparation I go through to get ready for a newborn session. From looking for unique props to cleaning all my equipment and setting up backdrops, I can assure you that your session isn’t viewed as “another session” just like your baby isn’t “just another newborn”. I prepare differently for each session and I hope it shows. Once your session is booked I am happy to share my in-depth guides to help you prepare for everything.
- PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION – MATERNITY 31-36 WEEKS ALONG
-
When planning your maternity photography session, it's best to try and schedule the shoot between week thirty-one (31) and thirty-six(36). This timing is what we shoot for because you have a nice bump by this point but aren’t in the last and often uncomfortable phase.
You and I will discuss the overall style of the maternity session thoroughly in the initial stages of planning. This normally happens during your pre-consultation. Points such as photographic style, props, clothing, and details should be decided early in the process. We are going to have a fun maternity photo shoot. You can relax and really enjoy the session and know that your memories of being pregnant are being captured. More in-depth prep will fall upon your booked session.
